In order to widen the opportunity for pupil voice we have restructured our committees into 9 school swarms to include all pupils from P3-7. P1 & P2 pupils will work together during swarm time to discuss aspects relating to each swarm.
Our school swarms are now as follows;
This group will lead the school in projects which relate to the 3Rs which are recycle, reuse and reduce. Mrs Speirs will work with this swarm.
Miss Stonebanks will work with this swarm. We are committed to developing the health and wellbeing curriculum as described in Curriculum for Excellence.
The Citizenship/ Rights Respecting School swarm has been formed with Miss Cromie. They will be responsible for taking forward our rights respecting schools agenda.
Mrs McLelland will work with this swarm to progress digital literacy across the school.
The Fairtrade swarm has been formed with Miss Galloway. They will be responsible for continuing our efforts to maintain our Fairtrade School status and for working with the community to progress Biggar becoming a Fairtrade town.
Miss Collins will chair this group which will look at the aforementioned areas.
Mrs Barr will chair this group in partnership with Mr Chad from our local Rotary Club.
This council will be chaired by Mrs Graham and will focus on the children’s input to self evaluation and input into teaching and learning.
Mr Scott will work with this swarm developing leadership opportunities within school.
